I am very sad to report that Richard ‘Dick’ Maisey has passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at the age of 73.
Dick was a Thamesians stalwart from the early 80’s for the next 10 years or so. He was a hard-running, flying winger on the pitch and a fun-loving socialite who enjoyed a pint with his mates off it. He loved touring and enjoyed a number of Easters with fellow Thamesian tourists at various venues around the country.
Dick was a successful solicitor and served a few years on the Club Committee and explored various opportunities on our behalf to secure playing and/ or clubhouse facilities which never unfortunately came to fruition. He was a valued clubman all round.
Dick leaves two daughters, Fran and Lara (pic) and with those of us privileged enough to know and play with him, he leaves a lot of great memories. He will be greatly missed.
