After last week’s home defeat to Kilburn, the boys wanted to end the year on a high. Bank started strong with their backs going in for an early score. Thamesians fought hard, the pack being a strong force all season managed to overturn a breakdown with Michael (Trampy) popping the ball to new second rower Kacie who managed to step his way to clear 80 meter sprint to the try line, beating their winger along the way.
The first half was a scrappy affair, with not much phase play, seeing Banks backs breaking the line once again and scoring under the posts. With less than a minute left on the clock for halftime, Kieran opted to kick high and have the team chase down the ball, Loud as ever Pete distracted their fallback enough for him to drop the ball, with T’s in possession we went on and built 13 phases of play before Skipper Rajan picked and went at the corner. 2 try’s a Piece the first half was over.
Now the second half was a bit of a blur. The scores swung back and forth between the 2 teams never being more than 2 points in it at any point in the second half. T’s scored 2 strong tries, with the Pack going over on a rolling lineout and the backs breaking the line and scoring under the posts. The big talking point was a questionable red card given to Trampy, with more than 20 min still left to play the men dug in deep with 14 men. Only to lose the game with what was practically the last kick of the game with Bank winning a penalty in the scrum.
The game ending 27-25.
What can only be described as a forwards try. Cam recently on the pitch throws a perfect dart to Tommy to set up the rumbling forwards. Then with meters to go, captain Rajan breaks off, and with plenty of work to do manages to twist and roll to get the ball to the ground.
