Thamesians women climbed back to the top of NC1 thanks to a hard fought bonus point victory over a powerful Chesham side.
They also top the table – on points difference – thanks to Eton Manor beating title rivals, Sudbury, 26-25.
Thamesians’ next two league fixtures are away to Eton Manor on March 17 and Sudbury on March 24. Both long journeys, but your support is always appreciated by the team.
It was a brilliant defensive effort that defied Chesham, who opened the scoring, before Emelia Arbouine ran in one of her trademark long-range specials, converted by Aoibhin O’Connor.
Aminah Olaniyan scored next, following a strong run and clever offload by Amy Healey, to give Ts a 12-5 half time lead.
Chesham threw everything at Ts in the second half, but could not break down such a determined maroon wall. It was a real battle, in difficult conditions, but Ts weathered the storm with Emelia completing her hat-trick, and Sydney Hayden-Fry claiming her second touch down in as many matches.
