THAMESIANS kicked off their league season with a strong performance at Thurrock, where they shared the spoils in a ten try-fest, but agonisingly missed out by one conversion.
Amber Sheppard converted four of Thamesians five tries, scored by Chloe Nash, Emelia Arbouine, 2, Emily Powell and Courteney Ellis.
With the clock running down, and a try ahead, the visitors looked set for victory. But Thurrock, unbeaten last season, forced their way over after a series of pick-and-goes to level the scores with the last play of the match.
A fifth conversion secured the win, although two bonus points eased the disappointment for Ts, who are hoping to get back to winning ways away to East London Vixens this Saturday, October 5.
