A tough start to the season meant an all-or-nothing approach against Actonians.
The men started strong, dominating the set pieces, the scrums were really something to behold with the pack only taking forward steps, resulting in 3 resets at scrum time 5 meters away from the opponents try line, with no other option a penalty try was awarded. (Possibly goes down as Ade’s first ever try for the club).
Actionains grew increasingly into the game, having some speedsters in their back line, scoring 3 unanswered tries, it was time for the men to up the intensity. Tries by Kieran, Luca, and Hugo certainly did that. Kieran with a quick tap and go in the corner. Luca the newest and youngest team member at just 18 set himself up a beautiful try stepping their fullback in the process and Hugo chasing down a kick pouncing on a drop ball from their winger to run one under the posts.
The game wasn’t quite over T’s kicked a penalty taking the score to 29-21 yet Actonians kept going, scoring a try under our posts making a nervy ending but a win nonetheless.
