After the euphoria of beating Wasps, Thamesians narrowly lost their top-of-the-table clash with Sudbury on Sunday.
As they did against Wasps, T’s came flying out the blocks, scoring two unanswered tries by Aminah Olaniyan and Emily Powell. Jemma Smith converted one and added a penalty for a 15-0 half-time lead.
Hit by injuries to Sophie McLaren, Emily Powell and the strong-running, hard tackling Sarah Brindley, the tide turned on the home side as Sudbury forged into a 25-15 lead.
Jemma Smith kicked a late penalty to ensure a losing bonus point, which could prove vital at the end of a long season to come.
Next up is an away trip to Chesham on Sunday, December 3.
